PostScript to avoid confusion...

To all of my non-technical people, GUI stands for graphical User Interface, GUI-NESS is when the program does the coding for you based on what it thinks you want to do...I would never EVER suggest that there is any such thing as too much GUINNESS. sorry for the unfortunate confusion below...

California, Nevada and Utah

Sunset over the Utah salt flats.
The only thing worth looking at in northern Nevada.

Greetings from Lake Tahoe!

Wow, what's up everyone. It took us 5 or so days to pull ourselves away from the California coast and for a while there I was sure I was not going to leave. Due to a corrupted SD card we have no pictures at the moment of the Cali coast, but I'll recover those files later. For now here's a quick synopsis:

San Fran is the best city ever, we found an organic brewery called the Thirsty Bear that had an incredible nitrogen conditionned stout and an amazing brown ale. We wandered around aimlessly and stumbled on festival that had Union Street closed down. The carnival had vegetarian Gyros and even veggie corn dogs! People drive like jerks on the golden gate bridge...

We drove up 101 through the redwoods toward Eureka until we looked at a map and realized we had no business driving that far north. We turned onto the northern most tip of Rt 1 and started down the most insane road of death-defying turns and cliffs I've ever driven on. We finally found a motel and crashed, where the owner kindly told us a tale of a man he didnt like whose head got eaten off by a great white shark in fort bragg.

We woke up to the most beautiful waves Ive ever seen, sitting on top of some cliffs. The rest of the day is a blur of rocks, waves, seals, surfers, a beach made entirely of sea glass, a great brewery (acme ipa, anyone?), a 2000 year old redwood, and a sense of complete confusion as to why Alex would have ever left Mendicino?!?!

anyhow, we headed west to Lake Tahoe and that's where the pictures can take over:
p.s. I still dont have any idea why this blog formats our posts this way, but the pictures are in reverse order and at the top of the page instead of the bottom.....TOO MUCH GUI-NESS IS FOR SUCKAS!

OK, TX, NM, and Ari-MF-zona

Ooops... the pictures are in backwards order... Just deal with us; we've driven over 3000 miles so far!
This is somewhere along some highway in Arizona. It's awesome to see purple and pink and gray and green even after the sun sets.
Sunset in Sedona, Arizona.

Red rocks in Arizona. The stripes are really there!

Cactus in Sedona, Arizona. Happy housewarming, Marcin!

This is possibly called Oak Creek Canyon.

Don't slip..

Knowing full well that I don't know when to keep my damn mouth shut, I vowed to not step one foot in the ultra-conservative north Texas. I filled up the tank before the state line and the above picture (best viewed large if you click it) was taken from the car.
New Mexico and Arizona today.. There are no pictures of NM here but you'll see 'em when we get home.
We are about 90 miles from California and we've crossed three time zones in 48 hours leaving me with some serious car-lag. I'm ready for Cali...I need some laid-backness after the stressful middle US.
Much love.

From the Smokies to Russellville, AR

Here we are in scenic Russellville, AR...I shouldn't make fun, we might wake up to the most beautiful place ever...We woke up in the heart of the Smokies in Cosby, TN and it is FREAKIN beautiful there. It is, as they are very proud to tell you, bear country. From Cosby we went through Nashville and stopped in Memphis. We listened to Graceland on the way and it got me pumped. Look at pictures.

Leaving North Carolina

Well, it has been fun. Jesse's b-day has lasted for about a week and it is finally running down. We celebrated it at the greatest place on earth...the Flying Saucer. This place has over 100 beers on tap. After this post I promise there will be more sights and scenery of our country, but for now you get generic bar pics. ENJOY!
